Services

I work with medtech companies and their investors in three ways.

Fractional Chief Medical Officer

The decisions that shape a product's future are made early, and they need medical and health-system judgement from the start:

  • product strategy and product-market fit
  • the real-world incentives and constraints that should shape product development
  • clinical evidence: what to generate, when, and for whom
  • medical input to regulatory submissions
  • strategic partnership opportunities

I provide this as a standing fractional role, or ad hoc, to companies who do not (or not yet) need a full-time Chief Medical Officer.

Global Markets Advisory

I also work with larger companies seeking specialist input on expanding global reach and impact.

Some of the largest markets are the hardest to read: the national health systems of emerging markets, WHO prequalification, UNICEF and Global Fund procurement. They buy at scale, by rules most medtech teams have never worked to. They are important markets for any company that wants truly global impact.

I map the route for specific products: which channels fit, what evidence each gatekeeper requires, in what sequence, and what clearing them will take in time and money. For companies already in these markets, I act as a standing adviser on where policy, funding and procurement are moving.

Due Diligence

Investors and funders face the question of whether a medtech product is worth backing. I appraise its pathway to adoption and revenue: the problem it solves, who has to adopt it, what evidence will persuade them, and what stands in the way.

Approach
One sequence runs through all of this work: assess, then accelerate. I form a clear view of whether a credible pathway to adoption exists before helping to build it. Promising technologies that skip that step become permanent pilots.I work with a small number of clients and ensure fit up front.
